Heart Like Water
Empty Branch
Waking up is like beginning to have a thoroughly safe and peaceful place,
an empty branch, somewhere near the center of your life.
Heart Like Water offers some resources for finding that "empty branch".
The first is a group of fifty-two reflections, one for each week, where a topic is explored that might open you to a new possibility. Usually, such musings come in a daily format; why weekly? I’ve had better evolution from camping out with a new understanding for at least a week at a time; daily meditations go by so fast that little in me gets time to shift. They remain concepts only, "head trips." They begin here, but you can go to the Archive and start anywhere you want.
Secondly, you can sample a DVD I made with my Taiji instructor. It’s different from others on the market: most of them are demonstrations, but ours is detailed instruction. Check out the sample clip.
You can buy it here if you want to meditate by moving your body.
Lastly, a novel I wrote several years ago will be published here soon. It’s finished but must be re-formatted for the web, but I couldn’t wait to share the two pieces above. I learned a lot about myself writing it, and since some folks have found it entertaining (and a little scary), I want to share it, too. Just check back for it in a few weeks.
All these tools have helped me wake up a little, settle down a little, so I hope they're worth sharing.
